Now I know what Common Elderberry looks like. Is is edible?

Are all these plants edible?

I know the Queen's Ann's Lace
has some toxic look alikes. Some
you do not even want to breathe
in the pollen I think it is.

I went to Medicine Woman's Roots
and read up on the Elderberry.

I needed some of that Elderberry
this last week.

I'll have to harvest some.
I hope it will be ok that
it is close to a freeway.

The freeway is below it.

The bushes are close to
the pond you see on my
blog at the moment.

I'd like to find some ginger
too. I really need some books.

I also went to some site on
your list and read up on dandelion
roots used as a coffee/tea.

God Bless You and Yours!!!

There are Queen Ann's Lace look alikes that are poisonous.

I think it is the ones that do not have the dark spot in the middle that are poisonous.

Thanks for the undate.

Have you ate the roots of
the Queen Ann's Lace b/4?

God Bless You and Yours!!!

I was reading that there is a poisonous Elderberry with red berries that should be avoided.

Flassie , All elderberries have poisonous parts , only the flowers and berries are edible , but you can't eat the seeds of elderberry. The leaves and stems are toxic on the common elderberry too.
I looked up Red Elderberry , the flowers and berries are cone-shaped , check-out the post for pics. From what I read about it , the red berries are edible when cooked. I will do more research on elderberries before I use them , we have Common Elderberry growing here.

I haven't eaten Queen Anne's Lace yet , need to do more research , such as when you dig the roots and how to prepare.
